The Williamsburg
Women’s Chorus directed
by Ann Porter, former Louisa County music teacher,brings
an afternoon of SING AND SWING! The Chorus and
jazz piano styling of Harris Simon, of the Harris Simon Trio,
will feature some of the great American standards, Broadway favorites,
and even a little blues harmonica. The Chorus will perform several
outstanding selections of women’s choral music accompanied
by Christine
Niehaus, from the music faculty at The College of William and
Mary. In addition, the Chorus’ much loved ambassador ensemble,

part of our celebration, the alumni will be treated to a sing-a-long
with Ann Porter at the piano and popular songs from the 20’s
to the 80’s. Then sit back
and enjoy the talent of the Barbara Martin Trio. Based in
the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, jazz vocalist and songwriter,
Barbara Martin roots her music in the traditions of the great ladies
of blues and jazz. Over a 20 year career Barbara has produced seven
recordings, impressing critics with her original songs and the
vocal styling to put them across. Concert 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Free.

Matty Metcalfe Charlottesville's
classical pianist will perform The
Piano Music of New Orleans: Roots, Revision, and Revival: A Musical
Journey. In this performance, Matty Metcalfe takes listeners
on a trolley ride through an ever-changing New Orleans street scene,
where some of the best and most authentic music our country has
to offer is still played in saloons and barrel houses. Mr. Metcalfe
chronicles the journey from early jazz, swing, and ragtime, to
modern takes on an ever-evolving style, inviting listeners to participate
in the story of a city we can all appreciate as our own. Sponsored

Theater IV “A Christmas Carol” By
Charles Dickens, Music and Lyrics by Jule Styne and Bob Merrill.
Perhaps the best loved holiday story of all time, Theater IV’s
adaptation of Dickens' classic is particularly suited to children,
and features a magnificent score by Jule Styne, the composer of
Broadway's immortal Peter Pan, Gypsy and Funny Girl. All
the joy, sentiment and meaning are here, without being too scary

Dr. Thomas Myers, recently retired
Curator and Professor of Archeology at the University of Nebraska
State Museum, now living in Gordonsville. Dr. Myers will speak
